The council is reportedly committed to advancing “trustworthy and responsible AI technologies” and building “resilient semiconductor supply chains.”

ChatGPT Supports Editing DALL-E Images

The paid version of ChatGPT by San Francisco-based OpenAI now allows users to edit DALL-E images on web, Android and iOS interfaces. The image-generating tool also provides style options, such as night, synthwave and sci-fi.

Salesforce Introducing Einstein Copilot for Tableau

San Francisco-based Salesforce released Einstein Copilot for Tableau in beta. The copilot is designed to give users an AI assistant to help them use the visual data analytics platform, which is part of Salesforce. The copilot allows users to explore Tableau’s analytical engine through natural-language queries.

Stability AI Releases Stable Audio 2.0

The London-based AI company Stability AI is sharing Stable Audio 2.0, a model that’s designed to take a natural-language prompt and create tracks with “coherent musical structure” up to three minutes long. The free model also supports audio inputs, allowing users to “transform” sounds. The Stable Audio 2.0 API will be available “soon.”

Resemble AI Develops Rapid Voice Cloning

Resemble AI released its Rapid Voice Cloning feature that’s designed to allow users to create clones of a voice with 10 seconds of audio data. The tool can support various use cases, such as content creation and accessibility. The platform includes “consent and authorization mechanisms,” according to the company.

Estate of George Carlin Settles Suit Over Podcast

The estate of George Carlin agreed to a legal settlement with the podcasting company Dudesy over a fake comedy special that “purportedly used artificial intelligence to recreate the late standup comic’s style and material,” according to the Associated Press. Under the settlement, the podcast outlet agrees to permanently remove the special and “refrain from using Carlin’s image, voice or likeness in the future without the express written approval of the estate.”

Report Says Machinery Industry Can Increase Productivity Up to 50% With AI and Other Innovations

Machinery and equipment makers can increase their productivity 30%-50%, by “harnessing” AI, lean, digital and sustainability innovations in the "factory of the future," according to a report by Bain & Company. The report, “Global Machinery & Equipment Report 2024,” says that incorporating novel technologies, such as AI, is a top priority for manufacturing executives.

Higgsfield AI Raises $8M

San Francisco-based Higgsfield AI, a video company for social media, secured $8 million in seed funding. Higgsfield AI, founded in 2023, will use the funds to train its model to be “even more controllable and realistic.” The company also released Diffuse, its mobile video creation app. “Creativity and connection should be at the fingertips of every creator,” says Alex Mashrabov, co-founder and CEO, Higgsfield AI.

SiftHub Nets $5M

San Francisco-based SiftHub, an AI sales response platform, raised $5.5 million in seed funding. The platform is designed to help users respond to the customers faster, and it is integrated with several other apps, such as Salesforce, HubSpot and Zendesk. There’s a waitlist for the platform.

Vodex Lands $2M

Bengaluru, India-based Vodex, a GenAI sales agent platform, raised $2 million in seed funding. Vodex, founded in 2022, will use the funds on product and global expansion initiatives. The company’s technology is designed to create “natural-sounding” voice conversations with customers.
