LONDON — The AI composable software platform Builder.ai hired an executive to focus on scaling and expanding the company's AI capabilities.
Builder.ai named Craig Saunders as VP of AI, according to the company last month.
He is responsible for leading the AI teams at Builder.ai.
Most recently, Saunders served as director of artificial general intelligence at Amazon.
Sachin Dev Duggal, founder and chief wizard at Builder.ai, called Saunders' approach to multi-disciplinary, multi-modal AI "visionary."

Saunders' responsibilities at Builder.ai include working on Natasha, an AI product manager, and the company's code generation system, which is designed to automate the transition from a user conversation to working code.
At Amazon, Saunders helped pioneer technologies for Alexa and led teams that were building the next generation of text large language models (LLMs) as well as advanced personalization for Alexa.
He holds a B.Sc. in computer science and management and a Ph.D. in machine learning from Royal Holloway, University of London.
Saunders said joining Builder.ai "feels like a natural progression in my career, allowing me to further push the boundaries of AI and machine learning solutions.”
