CLEVELAND — The health system Cleveland Clinic hired a leader to direct its use of AI across the organization and drive its vision of "transforming" care delivery with AI.
Cleveland Clinic named Ben Shahshahani its first chief AI officer, according to the health system last month.
Shahshahani will work closely with other executives, clinical leaders and data scientists. He will report to the chief digital officer at Cleveland Clinic, Rohit Chandra.
Most recently, Shahshahani served as SVP of science, machine learning and product analytics at SiriusXM.
"Cleveland Clinic sees great promise for artificial intelligence in health care, as it has the ability to improve care for patients and streamline work for caregivers," Chandra said. "However, we need to be thoughtful about how we implement it. Ben has a track record of effectively and strategically applying new technologies to create beneficial change for organizations."
