Vectra AI Names Google Cloud Exec Chief Product Officer

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Vectra AI is looking to its new C-suite hire to “equip customers with the AI-driven solutions needed to protect against cyberattacks.”

Vectra AI, a provider of AI-driven cyberattack detection and response software, named Jeff Reed to fill the newly created role of chief product officer, according to the company last week.

Most recently, Reed was the VP of product for cloud security at Google Cloud.

Reed will be responsible for strategy across all of Vectra AI's product-related initiatives, such as engineering, product management, product and technical marketing and customer support. The role includes overseeing operations and delivering strategic direction to "further drive value."

"Jeff brings diverse expertise and rich experience to our team at a time when AI is redefining how we detect threats and prioritize attacks," said Hitesh Sheth, president and CEO, Vectra AI.

Previously, Reed led product for Google's Kubernetes Engine, Anthos and serverless portfolio. Prior to joining Google in 2020, Reed held several senior positions over a decade at Cisco, including SVP of product management for the enterprise networking business and SVP and GM of cloud and network security. He's also held senior positions at enterprise software companies, including Symantec, involving product development, alliances and business development.

Vectra AI, founded in 2011, holds 35 patents in AI-driven cyberattack detection. The company's Vectra AI Platform provides extended detection and response (XDR).
