Pat Brans is a freelance technology journalist. In the 15 years he has been writing professionally, Brans has interviewed over 1000 people and written over 1000 articles.

Prior to embarking on his career as a writer, Brans had a 22-year career in high tech working for CSC, HP, and Sybase, where he held both technical and commercial roles developing cutting edge solutions and using technology to help customers gain an advantage in their markets.

From his home in Grenoble, France, Brans maintains an extensive network that ranges from highly skilled technologists to C-level executives around the world, reaching out to the experts for their views on a variety of topics—including AI, quantum computing, and the control engineering required for nuclear fusion. His favorite social media tool is LinkedIn.

Deep inside any new technology lies a good story. Brans works hard to find that story and communicate it in a clear and interesting manner. He constantly hones his writing skills, focusing on the fundamentals, such as grammar and narrative, and drawing inspiration from books, such as "How to Write a Sentence: And How to Read One", by Stanley Fish, and "On Writing Well: The Classic Guide to Nonfiction", by William Zinsser.

Brans also teaches classes at both graduate and undergraduate levels at Grenoble Ècole de Management and has authored two books: "Master the Moment: Fifty CEOs Teach You the Secrets of Time Management" and "Mobilize Your Enterprise: Achieving Competitive Advantage through Wireless Technology."

Brans has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from Loyola University, New Orleans.
