Meet Sara Schumann, CCXP, an accomplished professional specializing in alumni engagement with over 10 years of experience in higher education. With her organizational development and change management expertise, Sara has built a globally recognized voice of customer/donor programs, setting new standards of excellence in CX strategy and donor engagement. 

Sara attributes her success in CX strategy and voice of donor programs to her experience in hospitality and retail, where she led teams to surpass sales goals. She streamlined processes and improved customer and client engagement, increasing customer and revenue and reducing employee turnover.

Sara is excited about current trends in customer experience. She stays abreast of new technology, innovation and best practices across industries by being an active CXPA and Women in CX member. As a Certified Customer Experience Professional, she leads the CXPA Boston chapter and is also writing a book on designing a CX/Donor Experience Strategy in Fundraising and Higher Education. Sara is the go-to person for all things CX and donor engagement if you want to learn from a seasoned professional.

A native of Minnesota, Sara has lived in France, London, and the Cayman Islands. With her love of the cold and snow of winter and bright oranges and reds of Fall, Sara picked New England as her home and now resides with her family in Boston, MA. She is most at home with skis on her feet (any kind, although skating is her preference) or with a tennis racket in her hand.
